This series publishes original scholarly works in English about the causes, courses, and consequences of war and mass and violence from 1900 to present. Embracing a broad range of disciplinary perspectives – including history, sociology, anthropology, political science, and comparative literature – it provides a unique forum for monographs and edited volumes on the origins, dynamics, and/or impact of such violence. The series especially welcomes submissions by younger scholars, and authors exploring less-studied cases and phenomena (preferably from the Global South) and using novel theoretical approaches.
