eBooks

Individual website purchases

Customers can purchase eBooks directly through this website. In order to download an eBook, you must install Adobe Digital Editions: www.adobe.com/nl/solutions/ebook/digital-editions/download.html.

Using Adobe Digital Editions

To access your eBooks with Adobe Digital Editions, take the following steps:

  1. Install the Adobe Digital Editions app.
  2. Log in with your Adobe ID. If you don't have this yet, you can create it in the app.
  3. Click on the download link you received from AUP by email. You will then receive a license in the form of an .acsm file.
  4. Adobe Digital Editions will verify your license and then download the eBook in ePub or PDF format.
  5. You can now start reading.

Payments are only possible by credit card or iDEAL.

Mandatory Telephone Number

Due to tightened COVID-19 measures, delivery cannot be executed without a telephone number. Amsterdam University Press will only share your telephone number with the delivery service so that your order can be fulfilled.

Delivery Time and COVID-19

Delivery time is dependent on postal services. Please note: there are major delays in shipments due to high increases in demand and with more orders being delivered to private addresses than ever before. Restrictions and delays across the globe due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic are beyond anyone's control, but publishers and distributors are doing their best despite the current situation.

Prices

Orders made directly to AUP will be charged in euros. Your credit card receipt may show the equivalent of the euro price in local currency.

Costs

For postage orders, AUP charges shipping costs:

Orders within the Netherlands and Belgium:

  • Under €20,- shipping costs are €2,50 per book;
  • No shipping costs for orders from €20,-.

Orders throughout rest of Europe:

  • €5,50 for the first book, €4,- for each additional book.

Orders in the rest of the world:

  • €9,- for the first book, €4,50 for each additional book.
